Alexander Alexandrov

Александр Александрович Александров

27 June 1927 – 19 August 2004

Born in Yalta, Alexandrov graduated as a pianist from the Odessa Conservatory. He continued his studies in conducting at the Kiev Conservatory.

From 1951-1978 he taught piano at the Kiev Conservatory. Later he taught at the Gnessin Academy in Moscow, and as a visiting professor in Leipzig. From 1987-2002, head of the piano department at the Rachmaninoff Music School in Tambov, Russia.

For Melodiya he recorded an LP of Baroque music (below) and one of Bach and Mozart which I have not yet found a copy of.
