Алексей Николаевич Аксёнов
14 March 1909 - 15 May 1962 (also spelled Alexei Aksenov)
Aksenov studied piano at the Moscow Conservatory with Samuil Feinberg, Igumnov and Fyodor Keneman, and composition with Nikolai Zhilyayev and Myaskovsky.
He went on to become a composer. His research on the folk music of Tuva, and his compositions using their themes, made a historical impact and have led him to be described as the founder of Tuvan musicology.
He taught at both the Moscow Conservatory and the Gnessin Academy.
