Dmitri Alexeev

Дмитрий Константинович Алексеев

b. 10 August 1947

Alexeev studied at the Central Music School with Tamara Bobovich, and at the Moscow Conservatory with Dmitri Bashkirov, graduating in 1970.

He placed second at the 1969 Long-Thibaud Competition; first at the 1970 George Enescu Competition; fifth at the 1974 Tchaikovsky Competition; and first at the 1975 Leeds Competition.

He has recorded a wide range of repertoire on Melodiya, EMI, Virgin, RCA and Hyperion.

He is married to Russian pianist Tatiana Sarkissova. They both teach in London.
